GREEN VALLEY WATER DISTRICT RATE INCREASES 2018-2019

December 28, 2017

Earlier this year, the Green Valley Water District inspected the casing and equipment at Well #1.  Unfortunately deficiencies were discovered that indicated a replacement for this well would be necessary sooner than later.

The estimate to replace this well is about one point three (1.3) million (mm) dollars ($).  The District requires a rate increase to start building reserves for loan payments for the new well.  In addition, the rate increase will include a component that will offset the inflationary costs that have occurred since the last rate increase in 2013.

The monthly increase listed below is for a typical residential customer with a 5/8” meter.

And one crucial way of ensuring a future in which every child has clean water to drink is by teaching those children to conserve and care for our resources— right now. The folks at Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) are committed to doing exactly that. They “envision a world in which action-oriented education enables every child to understand and value water, ensuring a sustainable future.” Project WET is working hard to “develop and deliver the world's best water education resources, organize special water events, manage a worldwide network of local implementing partners and advocate for the role of water education in solving the world's most pressing water issues.”  Project WET
